Time is on my side today, as it is both a Thursday and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding anniversary! Let’s go back to 2018.
Embed from Getty ImagesA brief introduction: Princess Eugenie is the daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York. This makes her the granddaughter to the late Queen Elizabeth II, niece to the current King Charles III, and cousin to the Prince of Wales. Jack Brooksbank is a wine merchant and works for Casamigos Tequila, which you may recognize as George Clooney’s company. They met while Eugenie was on a ski trip to Switzerland, where Jack was working at the time.
The Engagement Ring:

I personally love Eugenie’s ring. It features a central Padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds, and looks quite similar to the Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York aka Fergie’s ring. Sentimental, but still her own.
The Venue:
Embed from Getty ImagesSt George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was busy in 2018! Eugenie and Jack were the second couple to marry there that year; the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their wedding there earlier in 2018.
The Dress:
Embed from Getty ImagesEugenie’s dress was designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos for Peter Pilotto, a British based designer. Her dress was designed with an important detail in mind: Eugenie’s scoliosis scar.
Embed from Getty ImagesYou’ll notice that she isn’t wearing a veil. That is because Eugenie wanted to proudly show the long scar on her back from scoliosis surgery. She has always been vocal about her experience with scoliosis and is a patron of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) charity, which is where she had her surgery at the age of 12.
Eugenie’s dress is one of my favourite royal wedding dresses. I’m a sucker for personal touches and if that ain’t a personal touch I don’t know what is. The dress also features floral motifs woven into the fabric: shamrocks to represent the Ferguson family; thistles for the couple’s love of Balmoral, the royal family’s Scottish retreat; the York rose; and ivy, which represents where the couple were living at the time, Ivy Cottage.
The Tiara:
As a non-working royal, her wedding is likely the only time we are going to see Eugenie in a tiara (never say never though, I could have said the same thing about Beatrice and look at her attending the Jordanian royal wedding in 2023). Eugenie absolutely nailed her tiara moment.

The Greville bequest is a post all in it’s own, but as short introduction, the socialite Margaret Greville left a boatload of jewels to the Queen Mother when Greville passed away. Part of that bequest was this tiara. When the Queen Mother passed away, the jewels transferred to Queen Elizabeth II. This particular tiara was worn for the first time by Princess Eugenie.
Here’s another shot of it, just because:

The Guests:

Beatrice wore a Ralph and Russo dress. She looks lovely, but as maid of honour I guess I was expecting something… more.

Embed from Getty ImagesThe now Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with their son, James, now the Earl of Wessex. Their daughter, Lady Louise was part of the wedding party.
Embed from Getty ImagesPrince Philippos of Greece and his now wife, Princess Nina. She takes some fashion risks, but honestly, I think she pulls this one off.
Embed from Getty ImagesAnd most importantly, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip!
It was a beautiful, albeit windy day, and I think Eugenie looked stunning on her big day! Happy wedding anniversary to Eugenie and Jack!
