It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Queen Silvia:

Crown Princess Victoria:

I thought this was a very dramatic and fun look for Sofia. She’s pictured here with Drew Weissman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Princess Christina:

But the fun wasn’t over! The ceremony is really only part one of the celebrations, because tonight the King hosted a dinner for the Nobel laureates, and that means more tiaras!
Queen Silvia:

And this is where we see the Leuchtenberg sapphires for Queen Silvia! She had it pulled in pretty tight as well; the Leuchtenberg is a very flexible tiara and it can actually lay completely flat in it’s case so it can be worn tucked in like this or wider on the head if need be.
Crown Princess Victoria:

Crown Princess Victoria wore the Connaught tiara and a top and skirt combo. The skirt is a repeat by Camilla Thulin.
Princess Sofia:

Princess Sofia also re-wore an outfit from Ida Lanto. She wore her wedding tiara again, this time with the diamond toppers. This is not the first time she’d changed the toppers so quickly; I would assume they just screw into place which would make for a pretty easy switch.
Princess Christina:

Princess Christina wore a purple gown and the six button tiara once again. If I remember correctly, she does not seem to switch tiaras often. If she wears one for the ceremony, she’ll wear the same one for the dinner. That’s just fine with me, I’m always here for some Swedish jewels.
My Predictions:

These were my predictions for the ceremony and it’s… not my best work. I pride myself on being pretty good at guessing tiaras for royal events, but this time, wow. I scored a 1.5 out of 5. How did I manage half a point, you ask (along with my husband, when I complained to him about this)? I was right about Sofia’s tiara, but not the toppers. Although, Victoria did wear the Connaught for the dinner so while it was on the wrong royal for the wrong event… that counts for something right?
